About the Electrical Insulation Conference

The Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC) is an international conference fully sponsored by the IEEE – Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS).  Held annually, the conference provides an international forum to share practical experience, new developments, research, and testing technologies in all areas and applications of electrical insulation. We are pleased to announce that the 42nd IEEE Electrical Insulation Conference will be held in Minneapolis-MN, in the United States on June 2-6, 2024. The EIC is the world’s premiere applied electrical insulation conference. In addition to the extensive technical program, there is an associated exhibition for suppliers of electrical insulating materials, electrical test equipment, instrumentation and sensors, and insulation test providers.

Main application topics:

  • Rotating Machines (generators and motors)
  • Transformers and Reactors
  • Insulation Coordination (switchgear, bushing, surge arrester)
  • Outdoor Insulation, Cables, and Accessories
  • Transportation Systems (auto, rail, aerospace, and marine)
  • Power Electronics in the Electrical Grid
  • Special session: “Impacts of Transportation Electrification to the Electrical Grid”

Sub-categories (applied to each main topic):

  • New Materials and
    Nanodielectrics
  • Insulation System Design
  • Air Discharges and
    Partial Discharges
  • Sensors, Testing, and Monitoring
  • Condition Assessment & Life Expectancy
  • Failures Investigation
